The short answer is no.
The reason is that full font files need to be packaged with your app. This means that hosted webfont services will not work with TypeEngine, since you will not be able to guarantee a network connection. You can, however, purchase a font that offers a mobile app license, and upload the .ttf file in the web console to be packaged with your app.
There are also a variety of excellent quality open source fonts available to use without charge. The League of Movable Type is one such source. The Open Font Library's quality is hit and miss, but there are some gems there, including Gentium. Adobe has even started to release a few new typefaces with an open source license.
